Because it has two sides, we can think of the heart as two separate pumps, one on the left and one on the right.
Each side of the heart has a small chamber on the top: atria, and a large chamber on the bottom: ventricles. The atria and ventricles are divided into right and left sections. When the muscles of the ventricles squeeze blood is pushed out.

How many chambers does the heart have?
Teacher I have a question, what if someone was born with no septum between the chambers where would the blood go? would it be like mixed blood?
ReplyDeleteThe heart has four chambers, two superior atria and two inferior ventricles
ReplyDeleteHadi i would like to congratulate you ...and rayan interesting question usually a septum is something that divides 2 walls.. if it is not in place the heart will not pump blood in its normal way and the person will not live.
ReplyDeleteConcerning the mixing blood : the 2 ventricles will be one, the blood in both ventricles ( in a normal heart ) will be in the same chamber so yes we can say mixed blood .
